Katten’s Training Contracts are offered to students who participate in our summer Vacation Scheme, which will run from 15–19 June 2026. Our Vacation Scheme gives students first-hand experience of life and work at Katten to help them decide if we’re the right fit.

During the week, participants will sit primarily within one of our practice groups, sharing a room with one or more of our associates, gaining insight into their work. We also encourage vacation students to explore other practice areas within the firm. Our goal is to develop well-rounded lawyers with broad legal knowledge, and both the Katten Vacation Scheme and Training Contract reflect this objective.

Activities for our vacation students include drafting memos, research tasks, and a mix of individual and group exercises (legal and non-legal), along with skills sessions on topics such as presenting and business development. Social events — including album clubs, the London Legal Walk, small group lunches, and networking evenings — give students the chance to meet our lawyers at all levels in a more informal setting.
